During Monday’s special “The Road to the Playoffs” episode of “The Voice” Season 24, all four coaches had a blast performing together for the first time. Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan and John Legend belted out Eagles‘ “Take It Easy” on the big stage as they geared up for the next stage of the competition. Watch the fun video above, which includes a look behind the scenes at their (sometimes extremely close-up) performance.

Horan explains to the viewers, “When we got asked what song we wanted to do, myself and Reba just turned to each other and we were like, well, it needs to be country-leaning, a little bit more rocky probably.” It was his idea to do this song because, as he reveals, “The Eagles are my favorite band ever. First concert I ever went to. To be up here on ‘The Voice’ stage singing ‘Take It Easy’ by my favorite band, with the queen of country music, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, all these icons, it was a pretty cool moment.”

Legend chimes in, “Rehearsals are so fun for this. We get to work with some of the best singers in the world. These are coaches who’ve been making music for such a long time. We get to rehearse together and figure this out together.”

McEntire says, “It’s so much fun to get to collaborate with the other coaches. We’re gonna have so much fun up there.” Note that she needs a little help learning the lyrics at first, so Horan lends her a hand during the rehearsal process.

Stefani calls the opportunity “really cool” and adds, “It was just one of those things where the song was this perfect choice for all of us. It just was really easy and natural and fun … And it’s always amazing in your life to go back and have videos of you doing that with these amazing coaches.”
