Queensland motorcyclist dies after crashing on blind corner in Adelaide Hills

A Queensland man has died on an Adelaide Hills road after losing control of his motorcycle on Tuesday afternoon.

CCTV footage shows a young man and woman running to grab a defibrillator from the nearby pub, but neither them nor responding emergency services were able to save the 41-year-old.

He was driving on North East Rd at Inglewood at 3.30pm when SA Police said he failed to negotiate a bend and lost control of the bike.

“The rider fell from the bike and collided with a Holden Astra,” police said.

The motorcycle rider was captured on CCTV moments before the crash, travelling past the Inglewood Inn, and 7NEWS understands he appeared to be travelling faster than the 50km/h speed limit at the time.

Moments later, a pair of good Samaritans were captured dashing out of the inn with a defibrillator in hand.

Emergency services arrived soon after and took over CPR, 7NEWS understands, but the rider died of critical injuries.

“Despite the efforts of members of the public and emergency services, the motorbike rider, a 41-year-old man from Queensland, died at the scene,” SA Police said.

The 30-year-old Woodville woman behind the wheel of the Astra, and her passenger, were uninjured in the crash.

The smash halted traffic for four hours as crash detectives examined the scene, but that road has since reopened.

The man’s death is the 81st live lost on South Australian roads this year, compared to 54 at the same time last year.
