We’re identical twin sisters married to identical twin brothers – we live next door & our kids are biological siblings
THERE’S a perfect match out there for everyone — even two twins joined at the hip.
And what better match for a pair of identical twin sisters than identical twin brothers?
Kerissa Sealby spoke to The U.S. Sun about what it’s like for her and her twin being married to twin brothersKerissa Sealby

Kerissa Sealby spoke to The U.S. Sun about how she and her twin sister Vanessa dated and married another set of twins.
Though they’re clearly embracing their double status now, that wasn’t always the case.
The mother of one recalled how she and her sister fought their similarities throughout their childhood and teenage years.
“We always really wanted to be so different, even though we just are not,” she said.
“We always thought we had different tastes in guys, I hated her boyfriends and she hated mine.
“It just never worked out, they never understood our relationship as twins either.”
While some classmates growing up thought it would be “so cool” is Kerissa and Vanessa ended up dating twin brothers, the sisters did not share the same enthusiasm.
So it was rather reluctantly that they agreed to a blind double date with another pair of identical twins.
“We were going into it thinking, ‘Whatever, we’ll be friends with them. It’s cool to be connected to other sets of twins and they had just moved to the area,'” she said.
Kerissa admitted that neither sibling set ever thought they would end up dating twins.
However, when her now brother-in-law Lucas got strep throat, he found himself at an urgent care clinic.
He struck up a conversation with his physician, who later sent him a message suggesting that he and his twin, Jacob, take out her personal trainer and her twin.
The two brothers and two sisters met up that same night with some hesitation.
“Me and Vanessa were both thinking, ‘Ew, we’re not dating twins, that’s so weird,'” Kerissa said.
“But the moment that we laid eyes on each other, I just gravitated towards Jacob and Vanessa gravitated towards Lucas and it was like ‘Yeah, this is it.’”
Kerissa said she and her sister never thought they had the same type until they met their now-husbandsKerissa Sealby
HEAD OVER HEELS — TIMES TWO
Both women returned home gushing over their new matches while Jacob and Lucas, both physician’s assistants, called their parents to say they had both found the one.
After their initial double date, they decided to go on individual dates to get to know each other better.
Fast forward six months and both pairs have made it official, and soon the four adults were all living together.
“I actually made a post on my Instagram when she got married saying, ‘I’ll miss having the same last name as you for eight months.

Their relationships continued on similar trajectorIES, with Kerissa and Jacob getting engaged in December 2021 and tying the knot in June 2023.
Vanessa, who accepted Lucas’ proposal in January 2022, officially changed her surname in October of the same year.
“I actually made a post on my Instagram when she got married saying, ‘I’ll miss having the same last name as you for eight months,'” Kerissa joked.
SIBLINGS OR COUSINS?
She and Jacob also welcomed daughter Sophie in August 2022 with her cousin Adrian joining a while after.
The sisters hadn’t considered their children’s unique DNA situation until it became a reality.

“We didn’t really think about how our kids would be genetically the same until I had Sophie,” Kerissa recalled.
“Vanessa was trying to get pregnant and [we joked], ‘Actually, you technically could be Sophie’s mom.’
My sister is like a mom to my daughter and I mean, genetically, it’s that way as well.

“And technically, I could be Adrian’s mom and people would never know if they looked at our DNA.”
Technically cousins but genetically siblings, the children have had some double-take moments when identifying their parents.

Speaking about her daughter Sophie, Kerissa said the infant was better at telling her mother and aunt apart.
“Sophie is old enough now to distinguish but she did get confused a little bit with her dad and uncle Lucas,” she said.

“It’s funny, she has this relationship with her uncle, she loves him but she plays more with him.
“She gives him dirty looks and runs away [but with her] dad she’s completely the opposite.”
Another advantage of having your sister and brother-in-law so close by, right next door in fact, is full access babysitting, Kerissa said.
Both couples have young daughters who are cousins but are also biological sistersKerissa Sealby
She also pointed out that every holiday and vacation can be spent together as there is no need to divide time between various sets of in-laws.
“My sister is like a mom to my daughter and I mean, genetically, it’s that way as well,” she said.
We know that we’re always there for each other and it’s been that way our whole lives.

“If I need to bring my daughter over and leave her, I can and she’s the same, there’s no having to plan it.
“We know that we’re always there for each other and it’s been that way our whole lives.”
IN THE GENES
The sisters, who both work together at a real estate firm, have a family history of twins.
“My grandma was actually a twin, as well,” Kerissa said.
“She had just recently passed away when we met [Jaoband Lucas] and so my mom was in tears and felt like our grandma sent them for us.”
What are quaternary twins?
Genetically, the four kids are known as quaternary siblings, which is a rare occurrence.
This is when cousins have matching DNA like siblings have.
The kids share the same DNA as brothers and sisters but are still technically cousins.
The kids also might even share similar looks.
Quaternary twins are born less than nine months apart to two sets of identical siblings.
Scientific experts do not technically refer to the kids as ‘twins’.
She referred to their chance set-up as “divine intervention” and said she couldn’t imagine a life where her twin sister wasn’t also her sister-in-law.
And while the couples may receive some ignorant comments online implying that their situation is incestuous, they’re excited to share their story further.
