It’s the dream of every athlete to get the opportunity to put pen to paper and sign your first professional contract. And that day has come for Griffin Tomas, as the Seymour, CT native has signed a 25-day contract with USL Championship club Hartford Athletic.
Tomas, who spent the last two summers with Hartford City FC, will join Hartford Athletic in their push to qualify for the USL Championship postseason with the club only sitting five points outside the playoff picture with nine matches to go in the 2024 regular season.
“The club is extremely proud of Griffin,” said Hartford City FC’s Director of Football Nick Balistierri. “He’s been a big part of Hartford City over the past two years. He’s put in the work and is ready to take on the challenges at the next level.”
Tomas, who completed his final season of college soccer last fall at Monmouth University, was a regular fixture for the Colts the past two NPSL seasons, appearing in 24 matches. He helped the Colts appear in two consecutive conference championships, winning the title in 2023.
Hartford City FC congratulates Griffin on all his successes and wishes him well in his endeavors in professional soccer.
