Did Joy Behar just come out? She says she’d like to be with a woman in 10 years.

Joy Behar, the 81-year-old co-host of the woman-led daytime talk show The View, has been married to a man for 13 years. But she says that she’d like to “get it on” with a woman in her 90s.
Behar made her comment while speaking on the show with queer comedians Sandra Bernhard and Judy Gold. The comedians visited to discuss Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution, a new Netflix documentary that explores the history of LGBTQ+ stand-up comedy.

During a March episode of the Behind the Table podcast, Behar revealed that French actress Catherine Deneuve once asked her if she was a lesbian while visiting The View, according to Suggest.com.
“She is the most beautiful thing you will ever see anywhere in this country, in the world,” Behar said. “She was here, and I was following her around. At one point she said to someone, ‘Is she a lesbian?’ and I said, ‘I am now.’”
She married school teacher Steve Janowitz in 2011 but first met him at a nudist colony in the early 1980s, she has said. They dated for about 30 years before they married. Previously, Behar was married to American TV producer Joe Behar from 1965 until their 1981 divorce. They have a daughter named Eve Behar Scotti.
Behar performed as a stand-up comedian alongside Gold during the 1990s but noted that Gold was closeted until 1996. Gold said that she only came out once she had a child and began performing stand-up routines about her life as a gay parent.
Behar previously appeared in stage productions of The Vagina Monologues and her Off-Broadway one-woman show, Me, My Mouth and I. She has written several books, including the autobiographical essay collection Joy Shtick — Or What is the Existential Vacuum and Does It Come with Attachments? and a children’s book called Sheetzucacapoopoo: My Kind of Dog.
