NEW YORK CITY — April showered New York City apartment hunters with record-high money woes, a new study found.Manhattan's and Brooklyn's typical rents stood at $4,250 and $3,599, respectively, last month, according to an analysis by Douglas Elliman real estate company and appraisers Miller Samuel.The scorching rents broke records for April — and hint that New Yorkers could be burning through money when summer's apartment shopping season arrives."Median rent edged higher year over year for the third time in four months," the study states for Manhattan.Northwest Queens offered the break in prices, at least in terms of breaking April records.Queens' typical rent stood at $3,244, according to the study.The rent was less than the $3,525 during last April, but still represented an increase from this March's $3,200, the study found.Read the full study here.The article NYC Rents Break April Records In Latest Bad News For Tenants: Study appeared first on New York City, NY Patch.
