Blavity House Party Debuts in Nashville: A Vibrant Celebration of Black Music, Culture, and Community
The inaugural Blavity House Party, held in Nashville, marked a significant milestone in celebrating Black music and culture.
This two-day event, hosted by Zack Fox and Bridget Kelly, kicked off Black Music Month with a vibrant mix of performances, food, and community engagement.
The multi-stage festival showcased a diverse lineup of artists spanning three decades of R&B and hip-hop. Headliner Monica captivated the audience with hits like “So Gone” and “Love All Over Me,” while Rick Ross brought his signature style to the stage. Dru Hill’s performance, including Sisqó’s rendition of “Thong Song,” was a crowd favorite.

Other notable performances included Big Freedia’s New Orleans bounce, Blxst’s West Coast sound, and Leon Thomas’s guitar-driven melodies. Emerging artists like Reyna Roberts, The Sainted Trap Choir, Domani, and DJ Sophia Rocks also left their mark on the event.

Beyond the music, the Blavity House Party celebrated Nashville’s Black community. Over 20 Black-owned vendors and restaurants, including Slim & Husky’s and Slutty Vegan, offered a taste of local cuisine.

The “Off The Shelves” marketplace provided shopping opportunities, while activities like double dutch, line dancing, and mechanical bull riding added to the festive atmosphere.
