Living Más, a Taco Bell fan community, shared a Facebook post about the new item.
“The Cheesy Chicken Crispanada will return to Taco Bell May 16th, while supplies last,” reads the post.
Inspired by an empanada, the item features melted cheese, shredded chicken, and Mexican spices inside a crispy shell.
“The Cheesy Chicken Crispanada offers a portable delight designed for easy enjoyment anywhere, anytime and perfect for fans seeking a convenient bite with a unique twist,” the company shared in a news release.
Taco Bell first announced the Cheesy Chicken Crispanada at its Live Más Live broadcast on February 9, temporarily adding the item to menus nationwide on February 15.
The new take on an empanada was first tested in Tennessee in 2023.
Thanks to the item’s success, it is now available for a limited time for $3.49.

“I actually really like them. Just had two yesterday for lunch,” shared one fan.
X users were especially fond of the savory item, begging Taco Bell to bring it back.
“Taco Bell I am on my hands and knees BEGGING you to bring back the Cheesy Chicken Crispanada. I only got to have it once and it changed my entire life,” one fan wrote last month.
However, others were not so excited about the item’s return.
“Those Are Trash.. why bring them back so soon???” asked a Taco Bell customer.

According to the Living Más Facebook post, the first 20,000 rewards members can score a $1 Cheesy Chicken Crispanada on the app.
The deal is available on May 21 at 2 pm PST and is limited to one per user.

Taco Bell is known for its innovative Mexican-inspired menu items.
Along with the Cheesy Chicken Crispanada, the fast food chain introduced several new menu items this year.
