American Idol fans are talking amongst themselves on social media and demanding a huge change in the judges. Many have not been happy this season with how the competition has been going. What are fans saying? Keep reading to get all the details.
American Idol Fans Demand Judges To Change
American Idol fans are demanding that judges change their ways. As the hit singing competition heads into the finals this Sunday night, fans are expressing their disappointment in the judges. They discussed it all on social media.
Most fans are in agreement that there is really no constructive criticism happening at all when it comes to the judges. The OG poster said they wish all of the judges would put a bit more effort into their critiques of the performances. They feel that by doing this that the singers will continue to grow.
The poster even feels like their praise isn’t all that great or constructive. They said, “I was really hoping the judges would push them a bit more. I don’t necessarily need a Simon style of criticism but a little tough love would have made this season better in my opinion.”

Most fans agreed with the OG poster. They believe that judging has become too soft. They want more from them. It was pointed out by many that things were different back in the day when Simon Cowell was a judge. Once he left, everything turned more laid-back. Fans noted they want to see exciting content, not just judges being cheerleaders.
This is something most fans agree needs to change.

American Idol fans have been expressing their disappointment with the three judges, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. Many feel they are just too soft and really serve no purpose in being there.
Fans seemed to like the show much more when Simon Cowell was there. Here is what fans are saying:
“Early seasons they always provided proper feedback. Post Simon, they never provide useful critique even if they’re making the decisions.”
“They aren’t as brutal as past judges, they praise even weak performances and song choices. I’m not saying you need a Simon but sometimes you need a Randy that can call you out saying he just don’t feel it dawg? You know ?”
“Idol is terrible now. The judges just praise the singers no matter what. They are so scared that if they offer negative advice their own popularity will plummet.”
While most felt this way, there were some who praised the judges. Carrie Underwood was given praise for at least trying to provide constructive criticism to the competitors.

Other fans noted that they do prefer Carrie over Lionel Richie. They think he is nice but just not judge material.
Overall, fans have been disappointed in American Idol, from the judges to the voting. Many feel the voting system is just a popularity contest and serves no purpose of actually choosing great performers.
