Russell Crowe’s Gladiator mask set to fetch eye-watering price in £10m blockbuster auction alongside other iconic props
THE mask has slipped and this Gladiator is definitely not Russell Crowe.
But officials hope the headgear he wore in the movie will hit an epic price of £200,000.

It is among a £10million treasure trove of 1,800 film props being auctioned in London next month.
The Propstore auction will showcase items from various TV shows and films, including Star Wars, Sex and the City, and Back to the Future II.
A sougth after item is sure to be a Sandtrooper helmet from the “Move Along” scene in Star Wars: A New Hope, which is expected to reach between £250k and £50k.
With the release of Gladiator II coming later this year, fans of Ridley Scott’s original can place a bid for Maximus’ (Russell Crowe) helmet and mask – if they have between £100k and £200k to hand.
Hand-painted artwork created by artist Robert McGinnis which featured in the 1971 James Bond movie Diamonds Are Forever is tipped to sell for between £150k and £300k.
Stephen Lane, founder and CEO of Propstore, said: “Following our Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction in Los Angeles this August where Indiana Jones’ hat achieved a record-breaking $630,000, we are delighted to announce our UK sale.
“This event will feature truly remarkable items from cinematic legends, including the exceptional Ray Harryhausen Collection, with lots from the animator’s private archive.”
Propstore will auction over 1,800 rare items from November 14-17, starting at London’s BAFTA in Piccadilly, with the final two days conducted as online-only sessions.
