WWE superstar has a very good reason she doesn’t want Evolution every year

WWE Evolution 2 aired on Netflix on Sunday 13th July 2025 and it's safe to say the all-women affair was a show-stopper.The hours-long live event saw female wrestling superstars from the entire WWE roster and some from TNA, too, battle it out in different matches. From a fatal four-way tag team starring The Judgement Day among others, to a 20-woman Battle Royal, and an unforgettable showdown between Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky (which resulted in Naomi cashing in her Money in the Bank contract), Evolution 2 delivered an unforgettable event for wrestling fans across the globe. The first Evolution aired seven years prior, in 2018, and it was high time for WWE to do another one; following the success of Evolution 2, fans are wondering whether it will now become a staple of the wrestling calendar, among big-hitters like SummerSlam and Backlash.RadioTimes.com caught up with Chelsea Green, who had a starring role in the 20-woman Battle Royal, to get her thoughts on Evolution 2 and whether she wants to see it return.
"I would love that – and hopefully it won't take seven years to get another Evolution," Green explained when asked if she would like to see a third event."However, I do think there's something to be said about keeping it special, keeping it rare, and not having it every year. Maybe every couple of years where the talent can evolve and come up with a new group of women on Evolution."Green praised the event, saying: "Either way, it was such a special moment. Every single match was a showstopper; there isn't one match I would've got up to go to the bathroom during!"

The superstar, who rejoined WWE in 2023, admitted that before Evolution, there was some "negative speculation" around whether the event would be a success - after all, it was taking place in Atlanta during the same time Beyoncé was touring her award-winning Cowboy Carter album."It was hard as women wrestling because we knew that our audience was going to be split between what they were going to. But they weren't split. They showed up for us. That arena was full – it was amazing."Green can be seen in WWE: Unreal, a unique Netflix documentary which lifts the curtain on the making of the biggest wrestling company in the world for the first time. She can also be seen on Smackdown, which airs on Fridays.Check out more of our Sport coverage or visit our TV Guide and Streaming Guide to find out what's on.
