MING Revives the Dive Watch With the Sleek and Durable ‘37.09 Bluefin’
MING has created a new addition to the dive watch space. The 37.09 Bluefin retains the look of a classic MING timepiece while paving the way as the Swiss brand’s first watch with an internal dial. The company says it initially wanted to build on its H41 dive watch by introducing more technical capabilities but found it difficult to pack much more into a 19mm case. After taking a step back and reevaluating, MING opted to prioritize a sleek, slim look.Sized at 12.8mm thick and 38mm in diameter, the Bluefin was proven capable of sustaining a “crush depth of 900m after 24h saturation,” three times the brand’s initial target. MING was able to achieve that level of pressure resistance and indestructible waterproof ability by adjusting intricate details, such as the curve on the front face and the positioning of crystals on the rear side.A Super-LumiNova X1 filled sapphire dial features a sealed crown at 4 o’clock from which the dial rotates around in a 60-click cycle. The crown is secured to sustain pressure and will continue operating underwater.Rounding out the watch’s impressive design is a luminous effect, making it viewable in the depths of the ocean, and a soft rubber buckle strap.Only 500 units of the 37.09 Bluefin will be produced in 2024. Available now on the MING website, the watch is priced at $5,370 USD (₣4,950 CHF).Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
