Ariana Grande calls Jeffrey Dahmer her “dream dinner guest”

Arianna Grande is taking flack for oversharing.
Apparently, the former Nickelodeon child star has long thought gay serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer would make a “fascinating” dinner date.

The Ryan Murphy-produced series has been criticized for glamorizing the serial killer and retraumatizing the families of his victims.

Grande recently appeared on an episode of the Podcrushed podcast and told the hosts about her childhood fascination with serial murderers.

“I was infatuated with serial killers when I was younger,” she said.
Speaking of her time on the hit shows Sam & Cat and Victorious, Grande remembered meeting a group of fans. “It was in between me being Cat and pop stuff, so it was like a younger group. They were with parents, and someone said: ‘If you could have dinner with anyone living or dead, who would it be?’”
Grande recalled she asked the parents if she could be honest.
“They were like, ‘Sure, what’s the answer?’ and I was like, ‘Jeffrey Dahmer is pretty fascinating.'”
“I think I would have loved to have met him,” Grande said before laughing. “You know, maybe with a third party or someone involved.”
The family of victim Tony Hughes — a young Black man who was both deaf and non-verbal and met Dahmer in a gay bar in 1991 — told TMZ they’re angry over Grande’s fantasy date.
Hughes’ mother Shirley said, “To me, it seems like she’s sick in her mind. It’s not fancy or funny to say you would have wanted to do dinner with him. It’s also not something you should say to young people, which she says she did.”
Tony Hughes’ sister Barbara called on Grande to apologize for “glamourizing” the serial killer, according to according to The Independent.

The 2022 series Dahmer, from out producer Ryan Murphy, was a hit on Netflix. Evan Peters won an Emmy for his portrayal of the cannibalizing killer.
Dahmer murdered and dismembered at least 17 men, most of whom were gay, between 1978 and 1991. Trial testimony revealed his crimes included acts of necrophilia, cannibalism, and sadism. He came to be known as “the Milwaukee Monster” and “the Milwaukee Cannibal.”
Dahmer’s probation officer noted in 1991 that the serial killer “had admitted … he is gay.”

In 1992, Dahmer was convicted of 15 of the 16 murders he was charged with and sentenced to 15 life sentences. He later confessed to killing his first victim, 18-year-old hitchhiker Steven Hicks.
In 1994, Dahmer was killed in prison by a fellow inmate, who quoted the infamous serial killer’s last words: “I don’t care if I live or die. Go ahead and kill me.”
