DUI Arrests, Stolen Package Lead Northampton Police Report
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between April 29 and May 5.During this tour, patrol handled 18 alarm calls; 15 abandoned 911 calls; 30 medical emergencies; 14 bookings; 9 domestic disputes; 14 civil disputes; 62 traffic monitoring details and 2 crime prevention details.April 29DUI Arrest - Patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a motor vehicle violation in the 900 block of Almshouse Road. Through investigation, the driver was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the 400 block of Lower Holland Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Lower Holland Road when it made contact with unit 2 which was traveling eastbound on Lower Holland Road. Tow was required. Traffic Hazard - Patrol responded to the area of Saint Leonards Road and Sydney Road for the report of metal in the roadway. Once on location, patrol removed the hazard from the roadway. Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the 500 block of Sackettsford Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Sackettsford Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree. Tow was required. April 30Well Being Check - Patrol responded to the intersection of 2nd Street Pike and Newtown-Richboro Road for an unconscious person inside a vehicle. Once on location, contact was made with the subject. They were evaluated and a family member was contacted. They were given a courtesy transport. Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to a parking lot in the 300 block of Newtown-Richboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was pulling into a parking spot when they made contact with unit 2 which was parked. Tow was not required.May 1Found Dog - Patrol responded to Adams Court for the report of a found dog. Once on location, patrol was able to locate the dog owner. Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the intersection of Holland Road and East Holland Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was stopped on East Holland Road and was attempting to turn left onto Holland Road. While turning, unit 1 made contact with unit 2 which was traveling southbound on Holland Road. Tow was not required. Disabled Vehicle - Patrol responded to the area of Hatboro Road and Pulinski Road for a disabled vehicle. Once on location, patrol located the vehicle which was blocking traffic. Patrol was able to assist the motorist in relocating the vehicle where it did not block traffic and cause a hazard. May 2Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the intersection of Middle Holland Road and Buck Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was stopped behind unit 2 on Middle Holland Road when it moved forward striking unit 2. Tow was not required. Community Relations - K-9 visited and did a walk-through of two schools within the township to speak and visit with students and staff. Theft - Patrol responded to Cecelia Acres Drive for a theft. The complainant had a package delivered to their home and after a few minutes, the package was taken by an unknown individual. The case was forwarded to detectives. May 3Scam/Fraud - Complainant reported that they had been communicating with an individual through a social media platform for the past few months. During their communication, the individual was able to gain access to the complainant’s account and start racking up charges. The complainant no longer had contact with this individual and information was gathered. Wires/Pole Down - Patrol responded to the 800 block of 2nd Street Pike for the report of a wire on the ground. Once on location, a cable wire was found on the ground. The wire was not causing an issue with traffic and Verizon was notified.May 4DUI Arrest - Patrol responded to the area of Mallard Road for a suspicious vehicle. Once on location, contact was made with the vehicle and the driver. While investigating this incident, it was found that this vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run traffic accident. Through investigation, the driver was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Theft - Patrol responded to a shopping center off of Bustleton Pike for the report of a theft. Complainant reported that their bicycle was stolen in front of one of the businesses. Patrol investigated this incident and was able to locate the bicycle which was returned to its owner. Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the intersection of Almshouse Road and Jacksonville Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was on Almshouse Road and waiting to make a left turn onto Jacksonville Road. While waiting, unit 2 was struck from behind by unit 1. Tow was required. Fires - Patrol responded to a home on Holland Road for a fire. Once on location, the fire was extinguished, and the home was ventilated. May 5 Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of Churchville Lane and Lakeside Drive for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling east on Churchville Lane when it left the roadway and struck a tree. Tow was required. Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the intersection of West Bristol Road and Davisville Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling on Davisville Road when it disregarded a red traffic signal at West Bristol Road and struck a utility pole. Tow was required.
