Longtime Pittsburgh Radio Personality Retires
PITTSBURGH, PA — Wrap your head around this: When Kathy Berggren, began doing traffic reports for KDKA-AM in 1982, the Parkway North (I-279) hadn't been built yet. That major Pittsburgh artery didn't open until 1989.Over the past 42 years, Berggren, has reported on countless accidents, weather-releated incidents and other traffic tie-ups that have delayed motorists from reaching their destination. But that came to an end Friday, when she delivered her last traffic update on the station's morning show. Berggren discussed her retirement with KDKA-AM morning show co-host Larry Richert as tributes popped up on the station's social media sites."Your conversations with Larry have been beyond compare," Logan Nandor wrote on the station's Facebook page. "Mornings won't be the same, but every happiness to you." The article Longtime Pittsburgh Radio Personality Retires appeared first on Pittsburgh, PA Patch.
