Harrison Burton returning to Xfinity Series with AM Racing
Harrison Burton will return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025 with a ride at AM Racing.
The team announced Friday morning Burton will drive its flagship Ford Mustang. Burton currently competes in the NASCAR Cup Series with Wood Brothers Racing. However, he is being replaced in the No. 21 next season by Josh Berry after three seasons with the organization.
Burton won four races in the Xfinity Series when he was a full-time competitor in 2020 and ’21. He finished eighth in the championship standings in both seasons.
“I’m excited to join AM Racing and help build it into the race-winning race team I believe it can and will be,” Burton said. “I think this will be a great opportunity for me to take the things I’ve learned in the Cup Series, bring those to the Xfinity Series and be the best driver I can be. It’s a blessing to continue my NASCAR journey, and I intend to make the most of this opportunity.”

No additional details for Burton’s program were announced.
The 2025 season will be the third year of competition for AM Racing, which will continue its alliance with the rebranded Haas Factory Team. The organization has also renewed its agreement with Roush Yate Engines.
“AM Racing is proud to welcome Harrison Burton on board,” said team president Wade Moore. “He is a first-class individual and has already proven he will immediately impact each team member here at AM in a positive manner. His experience across NASCAR’s national series will position him to be a leader and a catalyst in our pursuit of victory lane and the goals we ultimately envision for this program.
“We are equally proud to continue our strong partnerships with Ford Performance, Roush Yates Engines, and Haas Factory Team. These collaborations have been instrumental in supporting our team’s growth and success, and we look forward to building upon these relationships in the upcoming season. We continue to invest in this team, our employees and ultimately, our future.”
AM Racing debuted in the Xfinity Series in 2023 with Brett Moffitt as its driver. Hailie Deegan began the 2024 season driving the car but the two sides parted ways in early July, resulting in numerous drivers getting behind the wheel in the weeks since.
The organization has 58 starts in the Xfinity Series with 11 top-10 finishes.
