Social butterfly claims lonely people shouldn't complain about loneliness if all they do is watch Netflix, scroll TikTok, and stay at home all day, enrages agoraphobic introverts: 'This is a very privileged take'
I feel bad for people who are plagued with loneliness. Whether it's because they just moved to a new city and don't know anybody yet or they recently had a falling out with their friend group of many years, it's no fun to spend most of your time sitting at home alone watching TV without anyone to spend time with. While being lonely is tough, it's far from an unfixable problem—quite the contrary. The vast majority of the population can put themselves out there and make friends, even if they're typically shy or introverted. You could volunteer with other parents at your kid's school, take an improv class with a bunch of other 20-somethings, or even knock on your neighbor's door and invite them over for dinner. You can't cure loneliness by staying home all day long, and that sentiment is what got one Twitter user in hot water.
