Reiman Zebert has four visits locked in, eyeing a fifth, and a commitment to follow
Nebraska was through to see Springfield (Neb.) Platteview tight end Reiman Zebert this spring. The Huskers brought in multiple coaches, and Zebert invited his parents up to the school, where there was a good bonding session. Zebert will take his final official visit to Nebraska, but he will visit three and possibly a fourth school before making that final trip to check out the Huskers.
Thank you @HuskerFootball for visiting today. It was great seeing everyone again! #GBR @Coach_Satt @CoachEJbarthel @DonovanRaiola @GarretMcGuire @Huskers @HuskerRecruit pic.twitter.com/WtZ5Fj7fcU— Reiman Zebert (@ReimanZebert527) May 6, 2024
“Nebraska came by to see me a couple of weeks ago,” Zebert said. “I got called out of my class and went down to my coach’s office. We all got together and talked. I think we talked about older Nebraska teams and Orange Bowl teams, and we had a great conversation.”
Tight ends coach Marcus Satterfield was one of the assistant coaches who came to see Zebert. Coach Satterfield changed roles this spring, and it’s clear that he is settling in.
“It’s really fun watching him coach,” Zebert said. “He’s really good at what he does. I watched practice and saw what he was doing with the tight ends. He’s doing way more than the tight ends were doing a year ago. He’s way more involved. It’s going to be a really interesting year to watch.”
Nebraska will get the final official visit for Zebert
There are four official visits set up for Zebert, and he’s close to setting up a fifth, which would be a mid-week visit. Nebraska will get the final visit from Zebert. He says he will decide shortly after the visit to Nebraska.
“I have four official visits set up, and I have been thinking about setting up a mid-week visit with Kansas State. It might be the week between Duke and Wisconsin. Then, a week after the Nebraska official visit, I will make my decision.”
Zebert says that he plans to sit down immediately following his official visits to start thinking about his opportunities. His decision will depend on the relationship between the coaching staff and the players. Distance will not affect his decision if he can see himself at a school.
“We are going to sit down later this summer after all of my OVs and talk about all of the pros and the cons,” Zebert said. “I am just trying to finalize these relationships, making sure that I am not seeing a side of anyone that isn’t true, and really getting to know all of the coaches.”
“I want to go to a place and see if I can feel myself being there for the next four to five years. Also, see if those are the players that I want to be around for the next four to five years. Really, a good place where I can be even if it’s far away, and I can see myself. I want to be able to fit in their offense, and I am also looking at education.”
