SEC commit told he’s the ‘top priority’ at tight end for Florida
With the Florida Gators on the hunt for a 2025 tight end, assistant Russ Callaway is putting in overtime and still pursuing numerous targets.
One of them is committed elsewhere in Ole Miss commit Hayden Bradley; in fact, the tight ends coach is a few weeks removed from visiting the rising senior’s school.
Representing Buford (Ga.) High, the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Bradley is the No. 44 tight end and No. 772 prospect overall in the On3 Industry Ranking.
“It’s been going great,” Bradley told Gators Online. “(Coach Callaway) was just telling me I’m his top priority and he’s really after me. He shows me how I can be successful at Florida as a tight end. He really just came down and showed a bunch of love to me and my family. It was a great time.”
Multiple Florida coaches are pursuing Hayden Bradley
Throughout the week, the Gators’ head man makes contact with the Peach State native as well. That familiarity is in place following a trip to Gainesville in early March.
“Coach Callaway has been recruiting me for a long time, and coach (Billy) Napier stays in touch all the time as well. Those guys are very good people and I’m excited to get up there,” said Bradley.
Have both parties agreed on an official visit date?
“We just have to finalize the date and get all the plans booked. I will be taking one there, yes sir,” Bradley said. “It might be during the season though with just everything that’s going on right now.”
If an official visit does happen, it will largely be in response to Bradley’s first experience at the Swamp. And then when you consider the tight end’s relationship with Russ Callaway, it’s no surprise Florida is one of the schools pushing hardest to flip him, joining Alabama, Tennessee, Penn State and Utah.
“The environment is great down there. It’s all positive vibes down there,” Bradley said of the Gators. “The stadium is beautiful and all the coaches show genuine love. I truly appreciated that from them for sure.”
The Rebels stand out for several reasons
For now though, Bradley is happily committed to the Rebels and their pass-heavy attack. His official visit is on the calendar for Sept. 28, while multiple summer trips to Oxford will take place as well.
All in all, changing the 3-star prospect’s mind is no easy task for those still in pursuit.
“Ole Miss, as soon as I got there, it felt home. They took me in like family,” said Bradley. “(Tight ends) coach (Joe) Cox, coach (Lane) Kiffin, those are my people for sure. They got this thing rolling for me and I’m ready to roll with them.”
