Cape Law Enforcement Community Mourns Fallen MA State Trooper

CAPE COD — A Massachusetts State Trooper with connections to Cape Cod has died, officials announced.State Police shared that active-duty trooper Steven Culver died at 53 this week. He was most recently assigned to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section of the state police with previous assignments on the K-9 and marine units."We are heartbroken for Trooper Culver's children, grandchild, and family," state police said, in a statement. "They are now and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers."The statement continued:"The State Police family will forever remember Trooper Culver, his service to the people of the Commonwealth and the impression he left on us. His memory will live on."Culver graduated from the State Police Academy in 2006, serving with the MSP for 18 years. Prior to that, Culver worked on Cape Cod.Yarmouth police officials said Culver was a reserve officer from 2003 until he joined the state police in 2006."We express our deepest sympathy to the many friends, colleagues, and family members of Trooper Culver and offer our thoughts, prayers and support," Yarmouth officials said.
