Whichever way America votes, history will be made Tuesday.
Voters will either choose a president who will be only the second in the nation’s history elected to two non-consecutive terms, or the nation’s first female POTUS.
Another consensus among many pollsters and political analysts: This race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is close.

Kamala Harris appears to be caught in staged phone bank at DNC HQ
By Victor Nava
Vice President Kamala Harris stopped by the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington late on Election Day, ostensibly to take part in some late phone banking.
“How are you doing? Have you voted already?” Harris said, speaking into an iPhone given to her by a DNC staffer.
“You did? Thank you!” the vice president continued, after a pause.
When the room erupted in cheers, Harris turned the phone around to allow the person on the other end to better hear the applause.
However, it appeared that Harris was actually on the iPhone’s camera app and not actually on a call.

Formerly undecided voter checks the box for Harris in Ohio
By Amy Sikma
WATERTOWN, Wis. — Taylor Johnson was not impressed with either Donald Trump or Joe Biden when they debated in June. The IT worker from Dayton, Ohio, told The Post then that she was undecided.
That changed after the second debate, when Trump faced off with Kamala Harris.
“I was not a Harris supporter at all until I watched the second presidential debate, and she showed her skills and how she can debate an opponent,” Johnson, 34, told The Post Tuesday.
Voters work on their ballots at a polling place at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, in Simi Valley, Calif.

“The fact she is doing interviews with a lot of new outlets and trying to get out there has impressed me.”
What has not impressed her, she said, is the former president's lack of a plan. Johnson said she voted Tuesday for Harris and Tim Walz because “they seem to have a plan on what they want to do in the White House. Donald Trump and JD Vance have not talked about a plan whatsoever.“

WASHINGTON -- Retiring President Biden kept out of public view Tuesday as voters chose whether to embrace or reject his legacy.
As of mid-afternoon, the gaffe-prone commander-in-chief had made no public statements and only issued a single tweet supporting Vice President Kamala Harris.
Biden, 81, is not expected to attend Harris' election watch party at Howard University, about two miles from the White House.

The lame-duck president stepped on Harris' messaging in the final week of the campaign by referring to former President Donald Trump's supporters as "garbage."
Harris replaced Biden atop the Democratic ticket after he was forced by fellow party leaders to relinquish the nomination on July 21 due to concern about his mental acuity.
