Top 100 WR Davion Brown looking to make first visit to Michigan
Michigan recently dipped into the state Virginia and put an offer on the table for Davion Brown.
The Top 100 2026 wide receiver out of Richmond (Va.) Trinity Episcopal was both surprised and excited when the Wolverines stopped by his high school during the contact period and extended the scholarship.
“It’s definitely a blessing,” Brown said. “Michigan was kind of my dream school. It’s definitely a big one. I was excited that they trusted and believed in me.”
Former co-defensive coordinator Steve Clinkscale is the assistant that offered. While he is no longer on staff, Brown is still interested in U-M has been in touch with wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy and the recruiting staff.
“I’m still in connection with the coaches at Michigan,” Brown said. “I’m ready to keep building that relationship with them and getting to know them.”
Brown added that he is curious to see how the Wolverines perform under new head coach Sherrone Moore.
“I know they have a new head coach,” Brown said. “I want to see what he brings to the table and what kind of changes he makes.”
While this offseason has been chaotic, Michigan is still only a few months removed from winning the national championship. Brown watched the Wolverines throughout the season and was impressed.
“I’m definitely impressed by the way they got it done,” Brown said. “They were determined to win. It looks like Michigan gets the best out of you. They are big on development and coaching their players.”
The next step for Brown is making his first every visit to Michigan, which he hopes will happen at some point this spring.
“I most definitely want to get up there soon,” Brown said. “I’m just looking for the feeling of Michigan and how the coaches are. Really, I just want to build the relationship with them.”
Along with Michigan, Brown holds offers from Florida State, Miami, North Carolina, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee and a handful of others.
While it is still early in his recruiting process, Brown knows what he’s looking for in his future school.
“I’m looking for a school and a coach that believes in me 100 percent,” Brown said. “I want a school that will develop me into the player that I can be.”
At 6-foot-3, 185 pounds, Brown is ranked as the No. 5 wide receiver and No. 29 overall prospect nationally in the 2026 recruiting class. He is also ranked as the No. 1 overall recruit in the state of Virginia for next cycle.
Penn State has the early lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 50.8 percent chance of landing him.
