Hours after leaving FSU, 4-star OT Mario Nash decommits from Mississippi State
Four-star offensive tackle Mario Nash was on Florida State’s campus this weekend for his official visit, and the Mississippi State commit left Tallahassee early Monday morning.
Just a few hours later, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported that the Mississippi prospect had decommitted from the Bulldogs.
“First I want to thank Miss State and their staff for the time that they have spent in my recruitment, but after talking with my family, we have made the decision to reopen my recruitment,” Nash posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, the 6-foot-4, 270-pound prospect is a top-300 recruit, as well as a top-10 player in Mississippi.
Nash spoke with the media Sunday afternoon as he was starting to wrap up his official visit, and it was clear that Florida State was very much in this recruitment.
“I still like Florida State,” he said. “I committed to Mississippi State because they were the best school for me at the time. But at the same time, my recruitment is still open.”
Florida State offensive coordinator/line coach Alex Atkins has been in on Nash for quite some time. The Seminoles were actually the first Power Four school to offer Nash, and he now reportedly has over 40 offers.
“Man, Coach Atkins, me and his relationship, we [have been] cool since like day one since they first offered me,” Nash said.
