Coronation Street spoilers: Cult leader Rowan’s downfall ‘sealed’ as resident set to destroy him
Toyah is getting worried (Picture: ITV)
Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) is growing incredibly worried about Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) in Coronation Street.
In recent weeks, we’ve watched Leanne spend an awful lot of time with a man called Rowan (Emryhs Cooper). He is the leader of an institute named Altovalent and claims it’s all about self-help and improvement – but it’s actually a cult.
Leanne has been drawn into this and is showing no signs of anything different.
Like a true believer, she has started to credit everything good that happens in her life as proof that the ‘reality coding’ that the group teaches is working.

We’ve also had a glimpse of what could be Rowan’s real motives when he got Leanne to open up in a process that he called ‘uploading.’
This led to Leanne telling him all sorts of things about her past, such as her time as a sex worker – and the time she set fire to her restaurant, Valandro’s, in an insurance scam.
In a sinister twist, we saw that Rowan had recorded this whole discussion on his phone – so if Leanne’s commitment to the cause ever wavers, he’s got other means of controlling her or getting money from her.
In tonight’s (May 10) episode of the ITV soap, Leanne spent a great deal of time away from Toyah and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price), which left them wondering what she was up to.
After Nick discovered some money had been taken out of the joint account, he then learnt it was thanks to Leanne, who had purchased some vitamins prescribed by the Altovalent group.

Nick and Toyah both believed it was a scam and said Leanne was more than likely consuming multivitamins, but she was under the impression the tablets had been tailored to her needs – and she apparently feels better already.
That evening, Leanne clashed with her sister once again, who started to wonder if Rowan was breaking any laws with what he was doing.
As Leanne walked away, Toyah told Nick that she’s going to do more digging into what Rowan is up to, determined to get her sister away from the ordeal before she lands in even more danger.
