RHOC’s Shannon Beador Names Her One Regret in Feud With Katie Ginella

Going into Real Housewives of Orange County Season 19, Shannon Beador knew the only way she could go was up. After her miserable Season 18, during which she dealt with the fallout of her DUI, Shannon was hoping that things would get better.
What wasn’t on her bingo card this season were the screaming fights she would have with castmate Katie Ginella. At the end of Episode 1, Shannon was already telling Katie she was “worse than” both Alexis Bellino and Tamra Judge. As Emily Simpson said at the time, “That’s bad,” since Alexis and former bestie Tamra are Shannon’s two biggest nemesis.
But this season, Shannon is working on “taking that healthier path … and [creating] healthier boundaries for myself.” That’s why she regrets losing her temper with Katie.

Now that she’s had time to reflect, Shannon realizes that calling Katie worse than Tamra and Alexis “might have been a little reactionary,” she admitted to Decider. “You might hear me say they’re equals in the future. But I have to say I really was trying to give Katie what I thought was sound advice to make things better with certain people. To find out that she did what she did was just a shock to me.”
“When this recording happened was right when we got back from London last year,” Shannon added. “I left London early; I was spent. I was really in kind of a dark place, and she knew that. So for her to … pull out a phone to record me and then play it for Alexis?” Just not cool, Katie.
At that time, Shannon’s ex, John Janssen, and his girlfriend Alexis were suing her for money he had allegedly loaned her. So Shannon already had a lot on her plate. Ironically, before the filming incident, Shannon and Jennifer Pedranti had been Katie’s only two allies.
Subsequently, Shannon decided not to attend Katie’s hot pot luncheon. “That’s what I do now,” she explained. “I just need to take it in and process it. [Afterward], I came to the very clear realization that recording someone has only negative intent. There was no good intention behind her doing that.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo in the US. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
