‘RHONJ’ Star Confirmed For ‘Wife Swap’ Amid Cancellation Rumors

A RHONJ star has been confirmed for Bravo’s Wife Swap series. This comes as Jersey cancellation rumors are swirling left and right. The show was to be reevaluated, but nothing has been confirmed for Season 15. So, who is joining the new series? Keep reading for further details.
RHONJ Star Confirmed For Wife Swap
Bravo recently unveiled a new Wife Swap-style reality series where stars of The Real Housewives will switch places. Viewers seem to be very excited about this happening and watching the homes turn upside down. It was one of the four new shows unveiled by the network, along with a handful of renewals. Two shows that were on the list were RHONY and RHONJ. RHONY would have been set for Season 16, and although they appear to be filming, no one knows if it will really come back. Allegedly, the status is fine, and fans have nothing to worry about, but the same cannot be said for RHONJ.

When Season 14 was filming, the cast was so estranged from each other that Andy Cohen knew something had to change for it to move forward. They discussed rebooting the whole series or keeping some and adding fresh faces. Nothing has been determined yet, so it looks like the show may never return. At the same time, one RHONJ star is joining Wife Swap, per alum Kim DePaola, and it is Melissa Gorga. She explained that three ladies were given promise letters from Bravo, and this was a way of keeping Melissa going:
“A few months ago, I said that three of the women from RHONJ were given promise letters to show the network was still interested in them. I can tell you, officially, they executed on one of those letters by giving Melissaa spot on Wife Swap.”
Allegedly, the mother of three will get $125K for doing the new series. As for what it means for the fate of RHONJ, Kim does not feel it bodes well:
“Sadly, this isn’t a good sign for RHONJ, as one of its principal stars is now filming another show. So, it just adds more fuel to the fire to make it seem like RHONJ is dead in the water and will most likely not return.”
Is It Really Over?
Just because Melissa Gorga is filming Wife Swap does not mean RHONJ is over. It is likely a short filming schedule, so her experience could even be included in Season 15. Kim DePaola is clearly just speculating, but fans have picked up on Jersey not being on the renewal list. As with RHONY, it could be due to the two shows not airing until 2026. Therefore, it would make sense why they would not be presented in 2025. The Real Housewives of Rhode Island was presented as a new series, and fans believe it will compensate for New York and Jersey:

I’m a little surprised about RHONY but I think RHONJ is done
after NJ season finale and no reunion I had a feeling it wasn’t coming back. That season was toxic and i dont even want to see Melissa and Teresa
