Heidi Klum didn't hold back while defending her unconventional decision to be topless around her children.“I’ve always been very open with my body. When I’m suntanning in the backyard, I might not have a top on," Klum, 52, told People in an interview published on Tuesday, July 29. "I’m European … my kids don’t know me any other way and are probably more easygoing with their bodies because of it.”Klum is the proud mother to daughter Leni, 21, whom she shares with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, as well as sons Henry, 19, and Johan, 18, and daughter Lou, 15, from her marriage to ex-husband Seal. The "Stand by Me" musician, 62, adopted Leni during his marriage to Klum.The America's Got Talent star clearly has a close bond with her kids, while Leni is currently following in her footsteps by pursuing a modeling career. Back in 2023, the mother-daughter duo faced backlash for posing together in lingerie for a racy Intimissimi.“A lot of people are like, ‘Oh, I don’t know about mom and daughter doing this together,’” she told the outlet about the backlash. “But for us? I’m proud of my daughter. Then it’s sex, drugs and rock and roll. You hope the seed you planted in them grows. That they’re good people. That they’re healthy. But you always worry. And I know I’ll still be worrying when I’m 80.”When reflecting on what it's been like to age as a mother, Klum said that “the biggest misconception about your 50s is that you're off the shelf."“We are very much on that shelf for everyone to see," she said. "Beauty is ever-changing, and I’m here for the change. If it’s always the same, life is boring."
