“Put Some Respect on My Name” – Aung La N Sang Looking to Remind Everyone Who He Is at ONE 168: Denver
Former two-division ONE MMA World Champion Aung La N Sang plans to pick up a statement victory on September 6 at ONE 168: Denver.
That night, live in U.S. primetime from Ball Arena, “The Burmese Python” will collide with unbeaten sensation Shamil Erdogan in a pivotal middleweight MMA contest that could produce the division’s next World Title challenger.
Aung La N Sang is thrilled to fight Shamil Erdogan
After 19 thrilling fights in the world’s largest martial arts organization, Aung La N Sang has cemented his status as a global superstar and one of the promotion’s top talents.
His showdown with Erdogan in Denver will mark his 20th ONE fight and a decade in the organization. While some fans might think retirement is on the horizon for the 39-year-old, he says he’s only getting better:
“Ten years, 20 fights, man. Put some respect on my name. But I’m excited, man. The best is yet to come, and I promise you that I’m not just saying that. The best is yet to come, and I’m gonna put on a banger fight.”
More than just a veteran of the game, Aung La N Sang is one of MMA’s most feared knockout artists, boasting an incredible 13 stoppages across 15 victories in ONE.

His opponent, though, is a decorated world-class wrestler who has the takedown chops to put practically any man on the canvas.
The former titleholder certainly respects Erdogan’s elite wrestling skills, but is quick to point out that this is MMA – not grappling:
“I think he’s gonna dictate where the fight is going to happen, but we’re gonna fight. And it’s gonna be a hard fight. It’s going to be a hard three-rounder, and I’m going to look to break his face.”
“The Burmese Python” desires to prolong his fight with Erdogan
Ultimately, “The Burmese Python” aims to create a knockdown, drag-out war, which is exactly the type of fight he thrives in.
Rather than gun for an early finish, he hopes to drag Erdogan into deep waters and take him out in the final round:
“I wanna make it a hard, hard fight. I wanna feel every second of this. I wanna feel the pain and everything. I wanna make it a painful three-round fight where I finish him in the third round.”
