On June 26, 2024, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office was filled with family, friends, and community members who came to witness their loved ones during the Oath of Office and Promotion Ceremony.

The officers who took their oaths were:
– Detention Officers: Cameron Brown, Diamond Jones, Rebecca Kersey, Oliver Moya, Cynthia Parker, Barbara Purdie, Angela Strickland, Kayla Tatum, and Nedra Ward.
– Telecommunicator: Victoria Young
– Deputy: Brett Sasser
The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office recognizes the hard work, dedication, and professional development of its members. The following individuals were honored with promotions:
– Aspen Batten was promoted to Assistant Supervisor, Communications Center.
– Connie Bullard was promoted to Corporal, Detention Division.
– Amy Callihan was promoted to Assistant Supervisor, Communications Center.
– Amber Michalek was promoted to Corporal, Patrol Division.
– Jeff Tyler (formerly retired) was promoted to First Sergeant, Patrol Division.
– James Monroe was promoted to Captain, Patrol Division.
The ceremony was a testament to the commitment and professionalism of the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, highlighting the dedication of its members to serving and protecting the community.
