Purdue 2024 cornerback signee Earl Kulp has a connection to Purdue cornerbacks coach Sam Carter that dates back to when Carter was coaching at Ole Miss. And that relationship is what sealed the deal for Kulp to become a Boilermaker.
“We go way back,” said Kulp.
The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., native is rated as a three-star prospect and the 61st-ranked cornerback in the class of 2024 by On3. Kulp held offers from Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, South Carolina and others, before tabbing the Boilermakers.
The 6-0, 185-pound Kulp had 44 tackles (26 solo), seven passes defended and a fumble recovery as a senior. And Kulp is a four-time state champion, earning three titles with St. Thomas Aquinas and one with Miami Central. Aquinas was coached for 34 years by legendary George Smith, a Purdue grad and Lafayette native.
