Don Diamont has been in quite a few soaps over the years, with his most recent role being Bill Spencer Jr. on The Bold and the Beautiful. However, some fans think it would be best for him to leave the soap, though not necessarily because they don’t like him or his acting. In fact, quite a few fans are voicing issues they’ve had with his character’s role on the soap as of late.
Don Diamont First Joined The Bold and the Beautiful As Bill Spencer Jr. In 2009
Diamont has had a long career in soaps. One of his first major roles was on Days of Our Lives as Carlo Forenza.
The following year, he appeared on The Young and the Restless as Brad Carlton, appearing as the character well until 2009. Following this, he joined The Bold and the Beautiful as Bill Spencer Jr. Naturally, as both soaps are sister series, he has notably made appearances as both characters on both shows over the years.

Fans have enjoyed watching Diamont work as an actor over the years. However, some fans are actually calling on him to leave The Bold and the Beautiful.
Interestingly, this isn’t because they think he’s not good enough for the show, but because they think the show isn’t good enough for him. Taking to social media, one fan wrote out an “open post” to the actor. As they wrote, “Don – If you read this – or have people who scour the media daily for mention of your name.”
While warning Diamont not to break his contract, the fan suggested he leave the soap once renewals are up. As they continued, “You’re too good of an actor for this garbage. You’ve been on this show for how many years?”
The fan even had a few suggestions for Diamont’s next big career move. As they mused, “Get some jobs on nighttime shows like any CSI or Law & Order. You could be a snarky cop, attorney, or even the bad guy!”
“How about movies – you don’t even need to be the main character to be memorable. You have such an on-screen presence and are so impressive! Please do yourself a favor and get out!”
Taking to the comments, other fans explained why they feel Diamont deserves better than his current treatment. As one fan shared, “It has been an INSULT to this actor’s talent, quickly tossing him into the awful role of ‘Dollar Bill Spencer’ … which never fit Don. Bradley Bell hired him ASAP after Y&R left Diamont unemployed. Yet Bradley Bell didn’t create a good character to showcase Diamont’s acting range. Instead, Don was assigned ‘Rip-Off-Victor-Newman’ billionaire role… that never worked.”
A Few Fans Have Been Voicing Their Complaints Over What They Call ‘Zombie’ Bill
In particular, fans don’t like the way Bill has been written as of late on the soap. Many fans have even taken to dubbing the character “zombie Bill” in recent episodes. On social media, one fan in particular bemoaned that “I’m sorry, but the Bill Spencer we saw on television yesterday, crying and being bullied by everyone, is not even close to the original Dollar Bill.”
The original poster had also shared similar sentiments. As they shared, even though series creator Bill Bell gave him a job, this didn’t put him in any obligation to his son, Brad Bell, who serves as the soap’s executive producer and head writer.
Other fans shared their own reactions to the idea. Some fans agreed that Don wasn’t being treated fairly. Others disagreed, feeling that other characters should leave the soap, with Diamont instead getting more time to shine.
A few fans also pointed out that telling someone to quit their job is seldom good advice. Some comments included:
“No! I want Bill to stay. Ridge needs to leave the show.”
“Brad Bell treats him like crap, he has been disgusting to this talented actor .. get some prime time Don!!”
“He’s always Brad Carlton to me, so he could go back to Y&R and cause some issues for Lauren.”
“Agree or give him juicy storylines. Oh wait. They’ll have to get new writers in order to do that.”
“In this day and age you stay in the job you’re in or you get in the unemployment line for the near future.”
