It's a good time to be a Critical Role fan as the D&D group's animated empire is going from strength-to-strength, with The Legend of Vox Machina continuing to be in rude health and spin-off The Mighty Nein on the way this year.The creative team's panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 brought a slew of new information about The Mighty Nein, including confirming a premiere date on Prime Video in the winter and announcing some high-profile guest stars.Among them are Disney icons Ming-Na Wen and Auli'i Cravalho, plus Dune: Prophecy star Mark Strong, We Were Liars alum Rahul Kohli and screen legend Alan Cumming, who has recently earned acclaim as the host of The Traitors (US).Of course, you can expect your Critical Role favourites to also lend their voices to the project, taking on decidedly different roles to those we saw in The Legend of Vox Machina.If you're not quite ready to say goodbye to that original show, then we're relieved to say that you don't have to – it's been renewed for a fourth and fifth season on Prime Video, which will conclude the story of that lively campaign.Here's everything we've learned about the Mighty Nein series so far.The Mighty Nein release date
The Mighty Nein will premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday 19th November 2025.It's not yet clear what the full series schedule will be, but new seasons of The Legend of Vox Machina typically unfold over a period of three to four weeks, so it's possible that this spin-off will follow a similar timeframe.We'll bring you more updates on the launch as it comes in.The Mighty Nein cast – including confirmed guest stars
The Mighty Nein series will star Critical Role cast members Laura Bailey, Marisha Ray, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O'Brien, Travis Willingham, Sam Riegel and Matthew Mercer.The group, who previously lent their voice to The Legend of Vox Machina, will be taking on different roles for this new campaign, which focuses on a realm threatened by a "powerful arcane relic".Bailey will voice cleric Jester Lavorre, Ray is monk Beau Lionett, Jaffe is hunter Molly Tealeaf, Johnson is barbarian Yasha Nydoorin, O'Brien is wizard Caleb Widogast, Willingham is warlock Fjord Stone, Riegel is goblin Nott the Brave and Mercer is influential dark elf Essek Thelyss.
