Eli Manning takes hilarious jab at Arch, Peyton over first college start
The Manning family never misses an opportunity to claim bragging rights over the others when it comes to their football careers. Eli Manning did just that Monday morning after a post from the SEC Network on X compared the college starting debuts of him, Peyton Manning, Archie Manning and Arch Manning.
Arch made his first start this past weekend for Texas, throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns to two interceptions in a 51-3 win against Louisiana-Monroe. However, it was Eli who had the best stat line of the four with 271 yards and five touchdowns in his debut for Ole Miss in 2001.

“I win!” Eli wrote as he quoted the post.

All three of Eli, Peyton and Archie, their father, went on to play in the NFL. Arch is the nephew of both Peyton and Eli as he is the son of Cooper Manning, who played at Ole Miss before retiring from football due to spinal stenosis.

The belief is that Arch will join his uncles and grandfather in pursuing an NFL career. He played at the same high school, Isidore Newman, that both Peyton and Eli played and was the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2023 class.
Arch started this past week only because Quinn Ewers suffered an abdomen injury and was unable to play. He will likely continue to fill in until Ewers is healthy but is expected to return to a backup role once that time comes.
Still, he showed fans exactly why there was so much hype surrounding him entering his college career. Ewers is a projected first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and expected to leave after this season, handing the keys over to Manning for next year.
Once that happens, he’ll have plenty of time to catch up to both of his uncles in the many more starts that are sure to come.
