Citation Against Will County Board Member Dropped In Incident Involving Child On Bike

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The traffic citation against Will County Board Member Jacqueline Traynere stemming from a March incident involving a minor on a bicycle has been dropped in Will County Court. The citation, for failure to exercise due care for a pedestrian, was dropped on May 15, according to court records. The disposition was "nolle prosequi," which means the prosecutor decided to drop the charge. The incident had occurred on March 10 in Bolingbrook, at the intersection of Lindsay and Lily Cache lanes, Patch reported at the time. Both Traynere and the child refused medical attention, and Traynere was originally cited for failure to yield.Traynere was represented by Giamanco Law Partners. In a statement to Patch, Traynere said, “This has been a deeply distressing time for all involved. I extend my heartfelt thoughts to the minor and their family, wish them continued healing and nothing but the best in the future.”Traynere's attorney, Nick Carrescia, said in a statement that Traynere was relieved by the court's decision."This has been a difficult ordeal for her, and her primary concern has always been for the well-being of the minor. The incident serves as a reminder for all to exercise caution and share the road safely," he said. Traynere is a current member of the Will County Board. She previously served as the DuPage Township Administrator, but resigned in April.
