"Our demand booms wherever she goes," said United's chief commercial officer.Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty ImagesUnited Airlines says Taylor Swift is boosting its weekend ticket demand. And Southwest added more flights to accommodate Swifties.Swift's smash-hit 'Eras Tour' has injected billions into the economy.Need more proof of Taylor Swift's seismic economic sway?United Airlines' chief commercial officer Andrew Nocella said there is at least a 25% increase in ticket demand during weekend stops on Swift's "Eras Tour," Bloomberg reports."Our demand booms wherever she goes," Nocella said Wednesday at the Skift Global Forum. After her shows, Nocella added, "it goes right back to normal," according to Bloomberg.United isn't the only airline basking in Swift's shine. This summer, Southwest said it was adding more flights to Miami and New Orleans in October to accommodate "Eras"-driven demand."Following strong demand from last year's U.S. tour, the airline is adding more than 10 flights to its schedule to help Swifties get to and from her concerts," Southwest told CBS News in a statement. And United may be following suit. "I wouldn't rule it out in the future," Nocella told Bloomberg of adding more flights.United did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider."The Eras Tour," which kicked off in March 2023 and will run through the end of 2024, has provided an economic jolt both at home and abroad, injecting billions into the economy in ticket sales, hotels, travel, food, and beyond.Read the original article on Business Insider
