AMC Executive Producer Felicia Minei Behr Dead at 83

Groundbreaking daytime producer Felicia Minei Behr died on March 2, 2025, at the age of 83. The sad news was reported by her daughters, Kristina Behr Miller and Francesca Behr, on Facebook. “We are writing on behalf of our mom, Felicia,” they shared. “She passed away peacefully on March 2nd surrounded by loved ones. We appreciate the love and support you have given our family over the last five years as she battled brain cancer.”
Minei Behr was a pioneer, becoming the first female daytime television producer when she helped launch ABC’s All My Children back in 1970. She joined the soap as an associate producer and stayed until 1975. In 1989 she returned to AMC as executive producer and helped shepherd it to its first Daytime Emmy Award win for Outstanding Drama Series in 1992 as well as a second in 1994 before leaving in 1996.
In her daytime career, Minei Behr also served as a producer of Ryan’s Hope from 1982-88 before being promoted to executive producer from 1988-89, its final year on the air. Following her Emmy-winning run on AMC, she worked as executive producer of CBS sudser As The World Turns from 1996-99. And from 2000-04 Minei Behr worked as senior vice president of ABC Daytime, supervising production of all of the network’s daytime programming including its soaps and talk shows like The View.
Our thoughts are with Minei Behr’s family and friends during this difficult time.
