She's scored a run in 18 of her appearances, including her Crimson Tide debut against Longwood in February and a game-winning run over Virginia Tech in March.Upon her arrive to Alabama, head coach Patrick Murphy said Pate was a green-light baserunner with a really good short game, great bat control and speed in the outfield.Playing for longtime Northside High softball coach Tommy Honeycutt, she was a leadoff hitter for the Rams for four straight seasons. As a senior, Pate hit .523 with 25 RBIs and 68 stolen bases, which was good enough to earn first-team All-State honors. Have a news tip or suggestion on how I can improve Tuscaloosa Patch?
