Meghan Trainor Says Youngest Son Barry Is 'Testing' Her Desire to Have 4 Kids: 'We're Doing More?'
Trainor says navigating parenthood is made easier with husband Daryl Sabara by her side, calling the actor a "king"

Meghan Trainor is dreaming big for her family — even when things get tough.The pop star stopped by The Jennifer Hudson Show for the May 6 episode and opened up about life as a mom of two. Trainor and her husband Daryl Sabara welcomed their second son, Barry, in July 2023. Their son Riley turned 3 in February."He's so good," said Trainor of Barry. "The smiliest. If you make eye contact with him, he immediately [smiles]."It's not all been smooth sailing with Barry, though, the 30-year-old admitted: "Barry, as a baby is so different than Riley. "Riley was like our trick baby, he was so easy I was like, 'Let's have six. This is a joke,' " said Trainor. "And then after two I was like, 'We're doing more?' I still want four, four is my dream. . . . but baby number two, he's testing me."

Luckily, Trainor has a lot of support in Sabara, who she called a "king" — especially as they take on new challenges, like potty training Riley ("He's not pumped but he's doing so good," the "All About That Base" singer admitted.)
And the singer is embracing other aspects of busy parenthood: "I'm a full soccer mom," she admitted. "I bring the blankets, I have a hat that says soccer mom," Trainor told Hudson, adding of soccer star Riley, "Every time he makes a goal he runs right to us for a running hug."

Trainor is gearing up for her headlining tour this year, and the release of a new album in June, Timeless. The tour kicks off Sept. 4 at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, then makes stops in cities like Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York City, Toronto, Phoenix and more before wrapping up on Oct. 19 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.

The star recently accepted advice about touring with kids from Kelly Clarkson, who told Trainor on her show to assign her husband to "wake up with" her kids while on the road despite mom "guilt."Advised Clarkson, "Sleep in as long as you can, ‘cause you don’t go onstage for your vocals until late.” For more People news, make sure to sign up for our newsletter!
