Blue Chips: Parents of Top 100 QB Brady Hart go in-depth on Michigan
I recently caught up with Alex and Andrea Hart, parents of Top 100 2026 Cocoa (Fla.) High quarterback Brady Hart, to get their thoughts on Michigan and more.
Here are some highlights from the interview.
On Michigan recently extending an offer:
Alex: “Any school, regardless of who they are, that thinks enough of him to offer him a scholarship, it’s a pretty awesome thing to have happen. We have encouraged him to enjoy this process. It’s a privilege to go through this process. Michigan is super cool. You talk about the history. We have multiple family friends that have been Michigan fans over the years. You realize who the Michigan fans are when you didn’t know they were, and, all of a sudden, a Michigan offer happens, and they come out of the woodwork. Michigan has such a big fanbase. I think that’s happened more with them than other schools.”
Andrea: “Brady is looking for a big, national championship-type program and also the culture. Even in his sophomore year, we were paying a lot more attention to schools on TV and to player and coach interviews. From a mom perspective, I like what I’m seeing. Michigan’s culture looks pretty contagious. It’s a place that Brady could possibly fit in really well.”
On lead recruiter Kirk Campbell and the rest of the Michigan staff:
Alex: “We haven’t met Sherrone Moore yet, but we know some people that know him really well. They all couldn’t say more than enough great things about his character and the type of guy he is. We’re learning that the staffs really reflect the head coaches, so we expected Kirk to be a really great guy. He’s as honest as the day is long. As parents, we really respect that. We want to have that reciprocating honest dialogue. Kirk has been fantastic. It’s not necessarily easier to sell Michigan, but it is a place that has everything. It comes down to where you fit and the culture. But Kirk has been awesome.”
Andrea: “It definitely seems like (Campbell) is a coach that Brady would really enjoy working with. He’s really down to earth and seems like a great family guy. He has his priorities in the right perspective. Obviously, he’s also a competitor. He seems like a really super guy.”
On what they want to see on the June visit to Michigan:
Alex: “It’s an easy flight for us — Orlando to Detroit. It’s nice when you have a location that is easy to get to. It’s right outside of Detroit. There are a ton of Delta flights. I think we know it’s going to be great. As we’ve gone through this process, there are a lot of great places. Game days are great everywhere. Sure, there is variability between certain schools. But we’ve really focused on going during times where we can focus on the coaches, the relationship side of it and what real life looks like there. Again, we have a lot of people that have been Michigan fans that we know and really care about, so I’m sure it’s going to be amazing. Does it fit? Is it a cultural fit for what he wants to accomplish?”
Andrea: “Of course, I’m looking at the whole perspective. I love the fact that Michigan has very high academics. I’m looking forward to seeing everything about Michigan. He’s not just going there to play football. He’s a smart kid, and there is a future after football regardless if he plays in the NFL for a long time. We value that. We’re really making it a priority to get there as a family because there is a lot of value when you get to campus, and you either get a feeling or you don’t. I think that’s really going to be fun to see. I think he’s really going to enjoy it.”
On the overall recruiting process:
Alex: “It’s been super fun. We’ve encouraged him to enjoy the whole process. A lot of families can allow it to become stressful. We’ve worked really hard to not make it stressful. Sure, it’s a big decision. But what an amazing opportunity. We don’t take it lightly that these schools think enough of him to potentially risk their jobs for him to be their quarterback. We’re not being fearful in the decision. We’ve talked about that a lot. It’s easy to get caught up in ‘somebody else is going to commit here or push your timeline.’ Just trusting in the process and that God has an amazing plan for him. We just need to be patient and go through the process, and it will be clear. We need to enjoy that path as we walk on it.”
Andrea: “It really comes down to believing that God has a perfect plan for Brady. As parents, we’re just listening to him and praying for him. We’re creating the framework with scheduling the visits and trying to be his guides and coaches with it but allowing him to ultimately make the decision. This is going to be a fun time this summer. When it feels like it’s going to be stressful, we just need to take a step back and encourage him to soak it in and enjoy all the people we’re meeting and campuses we’re going on. He’s literally living his dream.”
