But then there’s the incident from 2017 when the Hello singer seemed to have broken her Grammy in half, seemingly because of the artist of her life, Beyoncé.

Of course, over the years, there has been a lot of speculation on whether the tremendously commended singer actually did this on purpose for Queen Bey or if it was a mere accident. Fortunately enough, the Skyfall singer has given her answer to this, but now there’s more controversy raging around Jay-Z’s wife over how artists seem to thank her first after their Grammy wins!
Adele Reveals How She Broke Her Grammy for Beyoncé
Seven years ago, in 2017, Adele set some really incredible records as she won not one or two, but five whopping Grammys. Among other titles, this included her winning the Record of the Year award as well. But instead of accepting this major accolade peacefully, the Rolling in the Deep singer had a rather emotional speech prepared that wasn’t for her family – it was for Queen Bey.

Taking the stage, the 12-time Brit winner’s overwhelmed words were (via Vanity Fair): “I can’t possibly accept this award, and I’m very humbled, and I’m very grateful and gracious, but the artist of my life is Beyoncé.” While that must have been some serious respect she held for Bey, Adele proceeded to break her award in two to share it with her icon seemingly.
While that was that, years later, in an interview excerpt shared by @protectorbeyonce on Instagram, the Set Fire to the Rain singer was asked “Was breaking your Grammy in a half for Bey easier or harder than you thought it would be?”

To this, she gave the most honest but rather surprising response as she said:
It was actually really easy. I was just so uncomfortable and nervous, up on the stage, trying to give that speech right in front of her. And it just sort of twisted off and fell off from the hand. It felt like a fake!

Apparently, it seems like the Grammy break was accidental, considering how she even went backstage to replace it with a full, non-broken one afterward. But while this gesture from the Academy Award-winning singer earned her quite a lot of praise and the stature of being a “humbled” celebrity from fans, things seem to be escalating in a different direction for Beyoncé.
As it turns out, netizens can’t help but notice this trend with artists thanking Jay-Z‘s wife after winning in an incredibly overwhelmed manner – something that has brought up the theory that Bey’s strong influence may be the reason behind it all.
Beyoncé is Currently Under Fire for Some Serious Conspiracy Theories
Artists getting emotional and thanking their parents, spouses, friends and families, and the people they work with, in general, after winning a major award is a rather ordinary and much-expected sight. This is why Queen Bey has been getting seriously scrutinized considering how many artists seem to be thanking and heaping praise on her after being honored themselves.

As many must have noticed, the Go Easy on Me singer wasn’t the only one gushing on and on in praise after winning twice the number of Grammys that her icon won that year. Over the years, other singers like Lizzo and Kanye West have also done the same thing (as @zivmontenegro pointed out), with the latter even resulting in a controversial feud with Taylor Swift.
According to Telegrafi, this has led to a creepy conspiracy theory about Bey sprouting up and spreading on TikTok, with the Say My Name singer allegedly being the biggest fear of the music industry. Apparently, this is because of her strong influence and the fact that she’s Jay-Z’s wife, who seems to be one of the “bad boys” of music just like Diddy, the now-disgraced music mogul.

Of course, this theory has been shunned by quite a lot of Queen Bey’s fans. While some of them claim in @protectorbeyonce’s comment section that Adele’s was simply a gesture that stemmed out of her genuine love for Beyoncé, calling her “a certified Beyhive”, some others Bey “innocent” claiming there’s no evidence to all those theories.
Well, for what it’s worth, at the end of the day, these are mere conspiracy theories, so fans might as well take them with a pinch of salt.
