Sexual Battery Charges Filed Against Former NoVA Firefighter: FCPD

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — A Fairfax man was arrested on multiple charges, including aggravated sexual battery, following an investigation that determined he’d had inappropriate contact with minors dating back to 2004, according to authorities.The Child Abuse Squad of the Fairfax County Police Department began its investigation on July 15, when Child Protective Services alerted detectives to the report of a child who said they’d been touched inappropriately by a man, according to the incident report.“Through their investigation, detectives learned Christopher Dudley, 46, of Fairfax inappropriately touched the minor on numerous occasions,” according to police. “As the investigation progressed, three additional victims were identified, disclosing that Dudley had inappropriate contact with them as well, in incidents dating back to 2004.”From December 2010 until October 2012, Dudley worked as a member of the Bailey’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department in Fairfax County, according to authorities. In addition to being a real estate agent, Dudley currently serves as a volunteer EMT with the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad in Montgomery County, Maryland.On Thursday, Dudley was arrested and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with eight counts of aggravated sexual battery and eight counts of indecent liberties by custodian, according to FCPD. He is currently being held without bond. Dudley was arraigned Friday morning in Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and has a preliminary hearing set for Nov. 5, according to court records.The eight aggravated sexual battery charges of a victim under 13 years of age are criminal felonies, which are each punishable by confinement in a state correctional facility for up to 20 years and by a fine of not more than $100,000, according to the Code of Virginia.The eight indecent act with a child by a custodian charges are also criminal felonies, each punishable by up to 10 years in prison, according to Virginia law.Victim specialists from our Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure that the victims are receiving appropriate resources and assistance, according to FCPD.Detectives would like to speak with anyone who may have information about this case or others possibly related.
