American Veterans Traveling Tribute Will Come To East Brunswick
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) Vietnam Wall will be coming to East Brunswick, officials said. The almost 400-foot-long AVTT Wall is an 80 percent scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. It contains every name etched on the original memorial. Accompanying the AVTT Wall will be Cost of Freedom tributes to every U.S. military action since World War I. The AVTT Wall will make its official arrival in the township on Wednesday, May 22 with a welcoming motorcade that will begin at 10 a.m. Details about the motorcade and route will be released later so motorists can plan accordingly. The AVTT Wall is being brought to town by the East Brunswick VFW Memorial Post 133, in coordination with the Township of East Brunswick, The Wall and tributes will be accessible to the public at the Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road, beginning with an opening ceremony on May 23 at 10 a.m. The wall will be open to visitors following the ceremony through Memorial Day, May 27. This year, East Brunswick will host its annual Memorial Day Observance at the AVTT Wall on Sunday, May 26, at 10 a.m. to commemorate U.S. Military personnel who gave their lives in service to their country. The American Veterans Traveling Tribute is an independent organization, committed to travel the country to honor and remember those who served and pay tribute to those who gave their lives in service. Built in 1998, the Wall is the largest replica traveling the U.S. It provides those who are not able to visit the memorial in Washington D.C. with the opportunity to honor and pay tribute to those who served in the Vietnam War.
