8:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘The Voice’!” In episode 15, the playoffs continued. On Team Reba Asher HaVon, Josh Sanders, and L. Rodgers were chosen to advance to the live shows. On Team Chance Serenity Arce, Maddi Jane, and Nadège moved on. Let’s start the live shows!
8:02 p.m. – First up to take the stage live for America’s vote was the “rock superstar” of Team Legend Bryan Olesen with “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. Reba called Bryan a “great performer” and said he’s always fun on stage. Chance agreed with her about Bryan’s energy and thought it was a good opening number. John thinks that Bryan is ready to “sell out arenas” and suggested that he set a high bar for everyone else performing tonight.
8:11 p.m. – Next was Team Dan + Shay’s “stolen one” Tae Lewis with the first single his coaches ever released, “19 You + Me.” Reba noticed Tae’s “personality and wonderful smile” as assets he possesses as a performer. Shay said he “got emotional” watching his journey on the show and that he “absolutely crushed it.” Dan called it his “best performance” because he “felt comfortable in [his] skin.”
8:22 p.m. – The first artist from Team Chance to perform was the “perfectionist” Maddi Jane with “happier than ever” by Billie Eilish. John said that Maddi is “such a star” and has “been since the beginning.” He especially appreciated that she made the song sound like her own instead of trying to be Billie. Chance was “blown away” because she’s “been incredible the whole competition” and “always had the stage presence.” He said that with all of her movement it was impressive that she kept her pitch throughout.
8:33 p.m. – L. Rodgers was the first artist from Team Reba to take the stage. For the “soulful firecracker’s” first live performance she went with Patty Griffin’s “Up to the Mountain.” Dan said L. sounded beautiful and sees her as a “great storyteller.” Reba thought she “nailed” everything they talked about in rehearsal and that she “feels it because [she] feels it first.”
8:43 p.m. – Next up was “ray of sunshine” Madison Curbelo from Team Dan + Shay singing “Yesterday” by the Beatles. John told her that she’s “one of [his] favorites” and this performance was “beautiful and tasteful.” He also thought that she “added just enough flavor of [her] personality.” Shay is proud of her and thinks her “soul and spirit” come out when she sings.
8:55 p.m. – Team Reba brought the “inspirational soul singer” Asher HaVon to the stage for a new rendition of Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love to You.” Chance said that if anyone not from his team wins it’s going to be Asher. Reba was emotional as she told Asher that they have a God-given talent to be a performer.
9:06 p.m. – For Team Legend’s next performance the “singer songwriter” Zoe Levert took on Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season.” Dan told Zoe she was “in her pocket” and it was “spot on.” John liked her tone and said that she sounds like a “real recording artist.”
9:17 p.m. – The next performer was Karen Waldrup, the “country powerhouse” from Team Dan +Shay, with “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack. Reba noted that Karen has “worked so hard” in her past and she “did a wonderful job tonight.” Shay was proud and “blown away” by Karen for what she accomplished.
9:27 p.m. – Chance bright his “comeback kid” Serenity Arce to the stage next for Olivia Rodrigo’s “traitor.” Dan thought it was “such a powerful performance” because of her “conviction of delivery.” Chance said she “makes the stage [her] own” with “emotional and heartfelt” performances.
9:34 p.m. – And right after Serenity, Chance followed with his “sultry soul singer” Nadège taking on “He Loves Me” by Jill Scott. John thought it was a “perfect song” for her and it was evident how much both she and Chance love that song. Chance added that this was the song that was “right in [her] alley.”
9:45 p.m. – Team Reba finished up with the “homegrown country superstar” Josh Sanders and his version of “Angels (Don’t Always Have Wings)” by Thomas Rhett. Shay was happy for Josh for “having that moment” and for remaining “only you” in all of his performances. Reba felt touched by Josh’s relationship to his wife and for performing that song in her honor in such a “special” way.
9:54 p.m. – The closing performance was the “throwback performer” Nathan Chester from Team Legend with Jackie Wilson’s “Higher & Higher.” Following a roaring standing ovation, John appreciated the “clarity of vision” and “commitment” that Nathan brings to the show.
