Donald Trump Shares Baseless Conspiracy That Biden Was 'Executed in 2020'

President Donald Trump has reposted a baseless conspiracy theory about former president and rival Joe Biden to his official Truth Social account.
Late on Saturday night, the 78-year-old president shared a post from a small, pro-Trump account which read: "There is no #JoeBiden—executed in 2020."
It goes on to say that the real Biden was replaced by "clones doubles & robotic engineered soulless mindless entities," and that Democrats "don't know the difference."
Newsweek has reached out to the White House outside of regular hours for clarification on why the president shared the post and whether this in any way represents his endorsement of the conspiracy theory. Newsweek has also reached out to former President Biden through his talent representative, Creative Artists Agency, via email for a response.
Why It Matters
There is no credible evidence to support any part of this claim. Biden has made numerous live public appearances, participated in unscripted press conferences, and engaged in direct interactions with world leaders, all of which would be impossible to convincingly fake with current technology. Additionally, such an extensive cover-up would require the complicity of thousands of people across the political spectrum, including Republicans, journalists, and foreign officials—an implausible scenario.
Trump's repost comes shortly after the news that former President Biden had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which his office has characterized as aggressive but still allowing for effective treatment. Since the diagnosis, questions have emerged as to why the cancer was not detected earlier, as well as theories that his condition was covered up during his presidency and may have contributed to a perceived cognitive decline and his weak performance in the June presidential debate versus Trump.

The Truth Social post itself linked to an article by the satirical conservative website Babylon Bee, which is unrelated to the conspiracy theory and entitled "Biden Family Worried They May Be Running Out Of Time To Exploit Joe Biden's Health." It included dozens of MAGA-related hashtags and links to separate Truth Social Accounts such as TheChristianPatriots.

The post comes only a few weeks after the former president was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. In the announcement, the cancer was categorized as having a Gleason score of 9, defined by the American Cancer Society as "high-grade," with metastasis to the bone.

Days following the announcement, President Trump shared another post which called Biden a "decrepit corpse." The post also accused Democrats of stealing the 2020 election, pardoning "their friends," and of using "an autopen to start wars"—the latter a reference to the accusation that Biden did not physically sign official documents, including pardons, and that the White House instead used an automated signature.

Far-right activist and commentator Laura Loomer, posted to X: "Trump just reposted this on Truth. 'There is no Joe Biden' alongside a laughing emoji.
President Trump, during a joint press conference with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Friday, called Biden "not a smart person, but a somewhat vicious person."
"If you feel sorry for him, don't feel sorry. Because he's so vicious. What he did with his political opponent and all of the people that he hurt—he hurt a lot of people Biden. And so I really don't feel sorry for him."
The American Cancer Society, in a statement released following Biden's diagnosis, said: "We stand with Former President Biden and Former first lady Dr. Jill Biden as they face this diagnosis. The former president is a longtime champion in the fight to end cancer as we know it, for everyone."

Speaking to reporters on his recent diagnosis, former President Joe Biden said he was "feeling good," adding that his treatment was "underway" and that "all the folks are very optimistic."
