She Cut Her Parents Off After Discovering They Knew About Her Ex-Boyfriend Cheating On Her For A Year And Even Covered For Him
Have you ever broken up with someone your parents liked and never heard the end of it from them?
A woman had to cut off her parents because she found out they were supporting her ex-boyfriend right before they broke up, even though he cheated on her and she was done with him.
She’s 27 and split with her 28-year-old ex-boyfriend five years ago after they dated for three years. She left him because she found out he cheated on her multiple times, which broke her heart.
“My parents were incredibly supportive and helped me get through it, or so I thought,” she said.
“Last month, I reconnected with an old mutual friend who dropped a bombshell.”
She and her ex’s mutual friend revealed that before she and her ex ended their relationship, her parents were in constant contact with him, supporting him emotionally and financially.
Even though her parents knew her ex was cheating on her, they felt bad for him and wanted him to succeed.
Her dad gave her ex job recommendations, and her mom gave him relationship advice in hopes they could repair everything.
Then, she found out her parents went as far as to loan her ex money, and she had no idea at the time.

“When I confronted my parents, they didn’t deny it, [and] claimed they were trying to ‘keep the peace’ and believed he was ‘just making mistakes’ and would change,” she recalled.
“They thought it was best for me to stay with him because he came from a wealthy family and could provide stability.”
Her parents also mentioned she hoped she would marry her ex-boyfriend, thinking marriage would solve their issues.
She was so hurt by her parents’ actions and the way they put her ex-boyfriend’s feelings over hers. Not long after learning all of this, she decided to cut off her parents and hasn’t spoken to them since.
Unfortunately, her siblings haven’t been very empathetic and are angry with her, claiming their parents only ever had her best interests at heart.
Things only got worse when her parents invited her and her ex to a family gathering, telling her they wanted them to work things out.
“This made me realize they still don’t understand the depth of their betrayal,” she added.
“They even suggested I give him another chance because he’s ‘changed’ and is ready to commit.”
She has continued to cease contact with her parents, and her family is divided because of this. Although her parents have tried apologizing several times, she doesn’t think she’ll be able to forgive them for a long time.
Should she consider forgiving her parents, or were their actions unforgivable?
