Top 10 country hit ‘Hometown Home’ features prominent mention of Church of Christ

My ears perked up while listening to my car radio the other day.
My favorite country station played a song called “Hometown Home” by the duo LOCASH.
The chorus goes like this:
We could make this Hometown Home
Keep our roots where they’ve always grown
Find a fixer upper down that road
From the Church of Christ
Where ya got baptized
Yep, that got my attention.
“Hometown Home” marks the fourth Top 10 hit for the duo of Preston Brust and Chris Lucas, according to Billboard magazine.
I’ve mentioned my love of country music and written about the ties of stars such as Dolly Parton, Randy Travis and the late Loretta Lynn to Churches of Christ.
In its 2002 hit “My Town,” Montgomery Gentry sang about a “For Sale” sign on a rusty tractor, the mill closing down, a whistle blowing every day at noon and the interstate coming through.
“Come Sunday morning service at the Church of Christ, well, there ain’t an empty seat to be found,” the chorus emphasized. “And this is my town.”
And who can forget (although I did until reader Bob West pointed it out) “the preacher from the Church of Christ” in Collin Raye’s 1994 hit “Little Rock.”
What songs am I missing that mention the Church of Christ?
If any come to mind, please email me at the address below. I’d love to hear from you!
