Officer Hurt After Being Struck While Riding Dirt Bike: Philly Police
PHILADELPHIA — A dirt bike officer with the Philadelphia Police Department was hurt in a crash Sunday afternoon, police said.The crash occurred at about 4:37 p.m. Sunday at Bennington and Caygua streets.Police said the officer was riding a dirt bike while assigned to an ATV detail in that area when a black Honda CRV making a U-turn struck the dirt bike.The officer slid into a parked vehicle and suffered injuries as a result of the crash, police said.The officer was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, according to police.Police said the driver stayed at the scene of the crash and was not hurt.
