Worcester African Festival Returns For Third Year

WORCESTER, MA — A celebration of African culture in Worcester is happening this weekend. More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the third annual Worcester African Festival on Saturday. The celebration showcases music, handmade art, fashion shows, bouncy houses and DJs.The event, hosted by the Massachusetts Organization of African Descendants, follows the theme "A Gateway to Africa: Embracing Our Roots."Two local organizations will be honored during the festival. African Community Education and Nigerian American Organization Worcester will receive awards because of their work in the community.The festival is free and open to the public.
