Brock Boeser injury update as Vancouver Canucks star major doubt for crucial NHL playoffs Game 7 against Edmonton Oilers
THE Vancouver Canucks are set to be without one of their leading stars for their Game 7 playoff showdown with the Edmonton Oilers.
Right winger Brock Boeser, the leading scorer in the playoffs so far, is expected to miss Monday’s big NHL game due to “a blood-clotting issue.

Respected Sportsnet reporter Elliotte Friedman has revealed the news ahead of the game.
It is “not considered a life-threatening situation” for Boeser, but it is unclear when he might be able to return.
Boeser leads Vancouver with seven goals in the playoffs and is tied with center J. T. Miller with a team-high 12 points through 12 playoff games.
He starred in the regular season too, leading the team with a career-high 40 goals, while also adding 33 assists.
The 27-year-old, who made his Canucks debut in 2017, was in January named an NHL All-Star for the second time in his career.
Boeser logged 18 minues and 40 seconds of ice time in Saturday’s Game 6 against the Oilers.
The Canucks suffered a 5-1 loss, sending the series into a decisive seventh game.
It didn’t appear that Boeser was dealing with any injuries when speaking with reporters after the game.
He didn’t train on Sunday however and now it appears Vancouver will be without Boeser for a pivotal game.
Vancouver are aiming to reach the Western Conference Final for the first time since 2011.
The Dallas Stars await the winners of Monday’s game in another best-of-seven contest.
And veteran defenseman Ian Cole says the Canucks need to embrace the opportunity.
“We’re in a Game 7 against an extremely good hockey team that no one gave us a chance to really even be in the series with, so we’re in a good spot,” Cole said.
“We got one game at home to win the series. Taking a step back, putting it into some perspective, I think we should be very excited at the opportunity that we have, and we should be very energized by that.”

Miller says it’s all about bouncing back quickly for the Canucks after their Game 6 loss.
“We respond well after we don’t bring our A-game, so we expect the same as a group,” Miller said.
“That’s part of the culture in here and the standard, so that’s what we’re looking forward to.
“It’s going to be hard and that’s the fun part of it. You got to embrace the hardness.
If you want an easy night, then you’re going to struggle. It’s pretty simple and you can’t hide in games like these.
“You’ve got to embrace it and we’ve been talking about that all season long.”
