Watch the moment car owner narrowly avoids disaster after forgetting to apply handbrake
THIS is the moment a driver narrowly avoided disaster after forgetting to apply his handbrake.
The unfortunate man could have ended up with a bill for thousands in repairs.

CCTV footage uploaded to his YouTube shows Matt Atkinson doing some maintenance work on his Volvo estate car.
The car has its wheel on chocks to hold it in place while it was being worked on.
However, having finished his jobs, Matt forgets to put the handbrake back on before removing the supports.
As he takes them away and stands up, the car begins to roll back down the drive, which is tucked around the side of his house.
It then heads rapidly in the direction of the front end of another Volvo that is parked a few feet behind, only narrowly avoiding the property’s front window as it goes.
The DIY mechanic is forced to leap into action, squeezing through the narrow gap between the car and the wall in the nick of time.
He just manages to get behind it and halt its progress before it would have smashed into the other motor.
But his job’s not done yet, as he then makes an attempt at applying the handbrake properly.
To do this, he pushes the car forward to give some room before darting up the side and opening the door before it can roll back again.
As the weight starts to shift, he wrenches on the lever, which applies the brake with a loud creak.
Matt then finally stands up to let out a sigh, looking more than a little sheepish at making the basic error.
Captioning the video, he joked: “Stupid man working on Volvo forgets to put handbrake on.
“I was working on my car (adjusting the handbrake for MOT) and forgot to reapply handbrake when removing chocks.
“Narrowly avoided hitting my own car.”
Social media commenters rallied around to praise Matt for his willingness to laugh at his own mistake.
One wrote: “Happens to the best of us.
“The fact you avoided the crunch is a blessing.”
And another added: “You’re not stupid or an idiot, we are human, forgetting is part of our nature and we make mistakes.
“Good save though.”
